"The Idea"

PingTimeout was originally just a Windows XP-based home-server offering some basic http, ftp and MySQL services to daedalus and his friends. The name originated from the fact that daedalus' internet connection was extremely unstable in the beginning and due to that, people used to see "daedalus has disconnected from the IRC server (ping timeout)".

Where are we right now?

The very basic idea remains the same. In addition to the old services, we now provide SSH (shells) and E-Mail functionality. Providing shells also gives our users a chance to install their own software, making it possible use IRC bouncers/bots and other software that you can install on a GNU/Linux shell.
